Veneered crockinole table

I think I’ve got the spelling right! Crockinole is a game played in Canada a bit like a cross between shove ha’penny, bowls and billards, they need something to while away those long winter evenings!

Phil had previously attended my beginners course and then started coming to my evening class, this is the first piece he made at the class. The board is veneered in walnut and cherry with ebony inlay, the centre is burr oak. The base board is oak with an ash upstand.

Following this Phill has made a post box from reclaimed wood and is currently working on a toy box for his grand child.
