Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the forthcoming open day at British Hardwoods as I will be teaching a beginners four day course. I enjoyed demonstrating at the previous open day in February, their was a good turn out with a wide range of demonstrations and a good attendance. Plans are for this event to be even better.
Demonstrators this time include Turners Retreat, The Little Oak Latch Company, Taylors Mirfield (pen making), West Riding Wood Turners, fretsawing and pyrography. There is clearly a slight wood turning bias but there will also be plenty of the famous British Hardwoods timber bargains to be had, both planed and rough saw european and native hardwoods. I suspect Tony will also demonstrate their new horizontal band saw which they use to convert native hardwood logs into boards for drying in their kiln.
It’s well worth a visit for keen woodworkers.
The open day is on 28th September 10am-4pm at:
