I have courses ranging from half to six days, below you can choose the course to suit your level.
You’ll be learning your furniture making at the fully equipped Cornmill Workshop in Ilkley on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
My furniture making courses are for hobby woodworkers that want to develop their woodworking and furniture making skills. Perhaps you enjoy DIY but want to develop new skills that will allow you to make more refined furniture or perhaps you are an experienced woodworker who wants to extend their skills into new areas.
The emphasis of each course is skills acquisition, but most courses are based around making a particular piece of furniture which incorporates the techniques focused in the course. Usually you have the opportunity to amend the design of the piece to suite your circumstances. The piece is yours to take home at the end of the course.
My aim is to pass on to you skills that I have acquired over the last 25 years and to make your woodwork more enjoyable. It can be a frustrating pastime sometimes, but acquiring certain key skills and practices can lead to more stress free furniture making.
