Improver’s make a bedside cabinet
Course details
Duration: 5 days
Maximum students: 4
Cost: £520 plus £120 materials
The course runs 9.00am-5.00pm
Course Description This course will run in conjunction with the Make a Book Case improver’s course. There are similarities between the courses, although this one will emphasise veneering skills a little more. The intention is, that by having different pieces being made on the same course, there will be an exchange of skills and techniques.
The cabinet carcase will be constructed in solid timber, using dominoes or biscuits, plus some carcase dovetails at the top. The door will be veneered with a book-matched burr. The top will also be burr-veneered with a solid edging, linked with inlay stringing. The basic cabinet will have a shelf below the top, but you could return for two days special tuition to make a burr-fronted drawer to fit this space.
