This is the second of my Art of Slow Dovetailing videos. Cutting the tails on lap dovetails is very similar to through dovetails, although they will be a little shorter. The difference arises when you come to the pins, here, because the tails do not extend right through, the tail sockets between the pins cannot be cut with saw. Instead they are partly sawed then chopped out with a chisel. If you have already seen my though dovetail video you can skip the tail cutting bit. A note appears on the screen at the appropriate place.
If you would like to investigate dovetailing further check out my dovetailing courses; the dovetailing weekend and drawer fitting and dovetailing.
