A half day woodworking course designed for the complete woodwork beginner based around the making of a set of four trivets on a stand.

Course description  This is a half day course designed for the complete woodwork beginner, to give a taste of some of the basic processes involved in working with wood.  It provides a good introduction to the use of hand tools. You will make a set of four trivets on a stand, as pictured.  The stand is 200mm square.

Skills Acquired

  • You will cut the pieces to size then carefully mark out the centre joint.
  • You will cut the joint using tenon saw and chisel.
  • After gluing up you will drill the stand for the 12mm dowels.
  • A quick sand, then the pieces will be ready for finishing.
