Courses held here include the tool sharpening & maintenance weekend, basic jointing weekend and dovetailing weekend. All beginners woodwork courses.

Too far to travel?

Some people have said that they would like to do a course but Yorkshire is too far to travel.

I appreciate that it could be a long way so I asked some of my students what they would say to those who have a long way to travel.

Getting Here: By road

British Hardwoods is situated just off of the main Keighley to Skipton road A629.

From Keighley direction at Cross Hills/Kildwick roundabout take the 1st exit left A6068 signposted Colne, Burnley & Cross Hills.

From Skipton direction at Cross Hills/Kildwick roundabout take the 3rd exit right A6068 signposted Colne, Burnley & Cross Hills.

Once on the A6068 turn left at the next roundabout onto Riparian Way. Turn right at the next roundabout. British Hardwoods will be on your left.

By rail

Trains to Leeds:

From London Kings Cross take 2 hours 15 mins approx.

From Manchester Piccadilly or Victoria take about 1 hour.

From Birmingham New Street takes 2 hours.

From Newcastle takes around 1 hour 30 mins.

From Glasgow is just over 4 hours.

Local Trains:

The nearest stations are Steeton and Cononley both on the Leeds to Skipton line

Trains run regularly directly from Leeds and Bradford (Forster Square) and take approximately 30 mins from each.

British Hardwoods at Cross Hills is a short taxi journey from either station.
